Noble Science Academy: The Art of the Sword

Historical Swordsmanship & European Martial Arts

Centuries ago, the science of self-defense was considered the most noble of pursuits, and skill with the sword was the pinnacle of that art.  Today, the members of the Noble Science Academy remain dedicated to the study and practice of those same Historical European Martial Arts.  All of the techniques and principles we use in our swordplay and grappling are founded on the teachings of real Medieval and Renaissance masters.

Currently, our main areas of study include German and Italian Longsword, Rapier, Sword & Buckler, Scottish Broadsword, Abrazare & Ringen (the unarmed martial arts of Renaissance Italy and Germany), and Scottish Backhold Wrestling.  We continue to regularly expand our study of HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts).

The Academy has schools located in Reno / Sparks and Las Vegas, Nevada, and in Lebanon, NH (right in the middle of the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont).
